After arriving in Nairobi in the morning from Kigali, you’ll head straight into one of the most unique wildlife experiences in the world—Nairobi National Park. Just minutes from the city center, this incredible park offers a rare chance to see lions, rhinos, giraffes, and more against the backdrop of skyscrapers. It’s a perfect way to begin your Kenyan adventure. From the park, you’ll continue to the nearby David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, where you’ll meet rescued baby elephants and learn how they’re rehabilitated for release back into the wild. Then it’s on to the Giraffe Center, where endangered Rothschild giraffes come right up to the viewing platform to be hand-fed—an unforgettable, up-close wildlife encounter. In the afternoon, choose between two deeply cultural experiences: a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum, the beautifully preserved home of the Out of Africa author nestled in the peaceful suburb of Karen, or a guided walking tour through Kibera, Kenya’s largest informal settlement.
