Wild Mystery Safaris

Everything you need to know about Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Ol Pejeta Conservancy stands as one of Kenya’s leading wildlife sanctuaries and a global model for conservation. Located in Laikipia County, the conservancy spans about 360 square kilometers at the foothills of Mount Kenya. Open savannah, acacia woodland, and riverine habitats shape the landscape.

Ol Pejeta hosts the Big Five and holds the largest population of black rhinos in East Africa. The conservancy also protects the last two remaining northern white rhinos on Earth. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and plains game roam freely across the reserve.

Conservation defines every experience at Ol Pejeta. Visitors learn about anti-poaching efforts, wildlife research, and community-driven protection programs. The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only one in Kenya, rescues and rehabilitates abused and orphaned chimpanzees.

Activities include game drives, guided walks, night safaris, and visits to conservation centers. Clear views of Mount Kenya add a dramatic backdrop for photography and wildlife viewing.

Local communities play a central role in Ol Pejeta’s mission. Tourism revenue supports education, healthcare, and livelihoods in surrounding areas. Ol Pejeta Conservancy delivers a purpose-driven safari built on wildlife protection, education, and sustainable tourism.
